Some changes are being made to the underlying Domain Name Service (DNS) configuration to improve extensibility to The Animegao Circle's web infrastructure.
As of when this maintenance notice was posted, the application daemons/service that enable the Guinevere bot and `animegao.info` have been set to not automatically restart after the next operating system update cycle has completed. Typically, the server is configured to automatically install updates and reboot between 00:00 and 06:00 United Kingdom time, with service daemons/services set to automatically relaunch approximately two minutes later after completion.
Completion of this maintenance WILL result in widespread breakage of old URLs, as resources which all used to be access via a single domain host name will be broken-down into multi-host arrangement, depending on the classification of each resource type.
After this reconfiguration has gone live, some new domains will go live immediately after, but these will remain inactive or return code 404 if-accessed. Notable domains will include:
`media.animegao.info`: The Guinevere bot's image library will be moved here and will be functionally unchanged.
`static.animegao.info`: Content which is not generated by server-side scripts will be moved here, such as logos and web page style sheets (CSS); additionally OBS widgets will be hosted here.
`sites.animegao.info`: This sub-domain will be used, as a perk for eligible long-time group members, to host micro-websites. The criteria for this feature will gradually be rolled out in due-course. This domain is anticipated to enter full service some time in 2027 after the outgoing connection is upgraded from copper to full fibre-optic.
`api.animegao.info`: All live or real-time data, which some can be ingested via third-party programs and apps, will be made accessible under this address. Calendars, including iCal types, can be subscribed to via this address.
